In its eighth Group H qualifier, Croatia was defeated for the first time, with the hosts Norway taking all three points in Oslo.

The first half saw only two clear-cut chances, one at both sides of the pitch.

In 29th minute, Forren took a shot from close range with Subašić making an attractive save, while a minute from break Mandžukić's header was parried by Nyland.

Croatia's performance looked promising in the opening minutes of the second half, with Mandžukić coming close on three occasions in just three minutes, yet it was Norway to draw the first blood.

Berget sent Srna the wrong way in the box and fired past Subašić to spark celebrations at Ullevaal Stadium.

It was Mandžukić to quickly respond, but once again without success, and Skjelbred failed to convert an excellent opportunity midway through the second half.

In 69th minute, Berget made it 2:0, finding the net with the help of Ćorluka's deflection. Croatia head coach Kovač sent Olić and Kalinić to look for the equalizer, but Norway had the match firmly in its grasp. Moreover, the hosts could have done even better through Henriksen and Soderlund.

In October, Croatia awaits home match with Bulgaria and an away match at Malta. Azerbaijan drew at Malta 2:2, while Italy hosts Bulgaria later this evening.
