Following the historic success and winning the second place in its League B group, Croatia women's national team had the opportunity to host Norway in an attempt to reach the very elite of European football.
Norway, a former European and world champions, and Olympic gold-medal winner, took the lead on 16 minutes through Hegerberg, while Graham Hansen made it 2:0 at the beginning of the second half. Soon afterwards, Ildhusoy scored the third and the final goal of the match.
The return leg is scheduled on Tuesday, 27 February, in Stavanger.
A Croatian Football Federation delegation led by general secretary Tomislav Svetina also supported the national team in Osijek.
