A Girls Football Festival was held at the NK Trešnjevka stadium on 20 September, welcoming girls born in 2014 and younger, with the aim of introducing them to football and encouraging their participation in the sport.

Throughout the festival, the girls had the opportunity to explore the basics of football, develop their skills and, above all, enjoy playing the game.

The programme included 3v3 and 4v4 small-sided games, dribbling, shooting and coordination exercises, as well as a variety of fun football challenges adapted for beginners.

A special part of the programme consisted of guided introductory football sessions in small groups, designed to provide girls with no previous football experience with their first positive experience of the game in a safe and supportive environment.

The activities were delivered by qualified coaches, HNS regional instructors and local club coaches, who introduced the girls to football through play and encouraged them to continue participating in the sport.

The Girls Football Festival is part of the “Girls Football Festivals – Croatia 2026–2027” project, organised by the Croatian Football Federation as part of the FIFA Women’s Development Programme – Women’s Football Campaign. The project aims to increase girls’ participation in football, connect them with local clubs and further promote women’s football in Croatia.
