On Thursday, FIFA has published the new national teams' ranking. In the top ten there were no changes, with Argentina holding on to top position, ahead of Brazil and world champions Germany.
England and Poland switched position, with the English now at No. 14, while Ante Čačić's men remained at No. 16, behind Italy, and one position above Mexico, who they face in the upcoming May friendly in Los Angeles.
Iceland, one of Croatia's opponents in 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying, drops to No. 23, and Ukraine - who visits Zagreb this month in a World Cup qualifier - is at No. 31. The remainder of the group includes Turkey (26th), Finland (99th), and Kosovo (164th).
