Croatia midfielder Mario Pašalić has taken part in the Chelsea's summer tour and has signed a new four-year contract with the English champions.
The Stamford Bridge club has also decided to send 22-year-old Pašalić on another season-long loan, to Spartak Moscow.
As Russian champions, Spartak Moscow has entered the Champions League group stage, and Pašalić will have the opportunity to play in the elite European club competition.
Pašalić has signed for Chelsea in 2014 following the move from Hajduk Split. He was later loaned to Elche, Monaco, and Milan.
His Croatia appearances came in friendlies against Cyprus and Gibraltar, and he received Ante Čačić's call-up for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at Iceland this June.
