The German Cup final in Berlin was a farewell for Niko and Robert Kovač, who leave this summer to coach Bayern Munich, and there was no better outcome for Croatia's former captain and manager.
On 14 minutes, Croatia winger Ante Rebić scored the opener, and following Lewandowski's equalizer at the beginning of the second half, the unstoppable Rebić found the net once again to make it 2:1. In the last seconds of the match, Gaćinović scored (3:1) to seal the trophy.
Rebić was substituted in 89th minute. Last year, Rebić also scored in the German Cup final, with his Eintracht losing to Borussia Dortmund.
