Following the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, where he was a member of a silver-winning Croatia squad, Duje Ćaleta-Car has signed a contract with Olympique Marseille.
He started his career at his native Šibenik, and soon moved to Austria, playing for Pasching, Liefering, and finally RB Salzburg - reaching the Europa League semifinal stage alongside winning four domestic league trophies and three domestic cups.
At Marseille, Ćaleta-Car was presented as a "young, pure centre-back of high quality, impressive physical strength and stamina, skilled in the air, and already experienced in European competition, ready to continue his development and take his career to a next level".
He is a regular in Croatia U-21 squad, with two appearances in the senior national team: in a June friendly against Brazil in Liverpool, and the victory over Iceland at the World Cup in Russia.
