The programme began on Friday, 10 April, followed by social activities and entertainment, including a DJ, karaoke, and various activities for participants. During the evening, a meeting of domestic team coordinators was held, where discussions focused on the further development of the Croatian national team for persons with developmental disabilities and a possible appearance at an international tournament in Houston in 2026.

The following day, the football tournament took place. Throughout the matches, the children demonstrated exceptional motivation, effort, and sportsmanship, promoting the values of friendship, equality, and fair play.
At the end of the tournament, a ceremonial award presentation was held, with trophies and medals presented to all participants, in the presence of musician Tony Cetinski.

Participants
The tournament featured representatives from the following clubs: HNK Rijeka, NK Istra 1961, NK Slaven Belupo, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, SKIP Association, and HNK Hajduk Split.
In addition to football clubs, numerous associations and institutions participated, including Down syndrome associations, sports organisations, and educational institutions from across Croatia.
This edition of the SPL once again confirmed the importance of sport as a tool for inclusion. Participants gained new friendships, unforgettable experiences, and increased self-confidence.
The tournament host, NK Istra 1961, in cooperation with the organisers, provided excellent conditions and a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

About the Special Power League project
The Special Power League (SPL) was founded in 2018 by the Association Academy of Healthy Living, with the support of numerous partners, including the Croatian Football Federation and other sports and educational institutions.
The project runs throughout the year, with its main goal being the integration of children with developmental disabilities into society through sport, enabling active participation in football and handball, and improving their psychophysical health and quality of life.
A special value of the project lies in connecting children through sport, exchanging experiences, and strengthening their sense of belonging.
The project is further enriched by its original anthem, “Like All Children” (Kao sva djeca), performed by well-known regional musicians together with the children.
The value of the project has also been recognised at the European level — SPL received the silver award at the UEFA Grassroots Awards 2020 for the best initiative for people with disabilities.
The Association Academy of Healthy Living was founded in 2014 with the aim of promoting the physical and mental health of children and young people through sport and education. Through various projects, it seeks to encourage positive social change and highlight the importance of an active lifestyle.
