Croatia and Argentina will meet for the fourth time in history. In a friendly match in 1994, Diego Maradona and his teammates traveled to Zagreb, with a goalless draw as a final result.
At the World Cup in France in 1998, Argentina won the final group stage match 1:0, while Croatia won the friendly match in Basel in 2006. The international debut of Luka Modrić finished 3:2, courtesy of Dario Šimić goal in added time.
This friendly match will be an excellent introduction to another football classic, Croatia's away match in Milan against Italy, in an European qualifier on 16 November.
